Finger Food
Zander ate finger food for the first time today. I am so excited. We have been trying to have him eat finger food for a while now. I was getting worried that he may be eating baby food for quite a while. Okay I wasn't super worried, but he has been fighting it. My friends and family kept telling me to keep offering it to him. So this morning while I was feeding him some baby food fruit, I put some Organic puffs on his highchair tray. Then I would have him watch me eat the puffs. After a while he would put the puff in his mouth and lick it. Eventually he kept it in his mouth and bit down on it. Yeah Zander. Then this afternoon I gave him a Gerber Graduate lill' crunchies. He loves them, and ate quite a few of them. I am so excited. Now I just have to start introducing some soft vegetables and fruit for him to try. I can't wait until we don't have to buy the Gerber baby food; it is costly.
Yummy
Yummy
Yummy. He likes it. Mikey Zander likes it!

Merry Christmas Zander
Note: This post was originally meant to be posted on December 25, 2009.
This is the first present Zander opened. We are going to start a tradition where we open up one present on Christmas Eve, which will be pajamas. So even though it was actually Christmas Day, really early, we were pretending it was Christmas Eve, and that is why we had Zander open it on our bed. Brian worked until 1:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and when he got home I got ready for work and then left for work. That is why Zander didn't open his present on Christmas Eve, because I wanted both of us to be there when he opened it up.

Zander wasn't that interested in opening gifts

Later in the afternoon we went to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law's house to celebrate Christmas with my husband's family.
We had a wonderful Christmas.
Very Sad and Very Mad
In the past, if I started a post for this blog I could go back and edit it another day. When I finally posted it, it would post on the day that I initially started the post. Well, I loved that, but now things are different. I don't know if it is because it is a new year, but now my blog entries post on the day I finish the entry. I am very sad about this. I have a lot of posts that I have started, and was hoping they would post to the day that I started them. So, please understand. In the next few weeks (I had a lot of them) you will be seeing some old posts from last year. I have some from Thanksgiving, and some even a little earlier than that. I apologize for this, but I really want these posts on my blog because I blog to have a record of Zander and my families lives.
Nursery with 6 kids
My husband (McDreamy) and I were in Nursery today with 6 kids. It was a little crazy at times. Three of them were under 1 years old, and the other 3 were 2 years old or almost 2. At one point I had 3 kids on my lap at once. It was fun and crazy, but I did realize that I don't want to have 6 children. McDreamy was holding our friend's daughter, Jordyn, who is 4 months old. While he was holding her he turned to me and said, "I'm ready to have another little one like this around." That is amazing, because lately he hasn't wanted to have another child yet. I was soooooo excited to hear that.
After church we went over to our good friend's house, Sam and Jen, for lunch and watched some football. We just love this couple and their family. We are so happy God has placed them in our lives.
I loved watching the boys play with these toys, the vanity.
and the princess castle. They had so much fun.
Zander just took it all in.

Happy Birthday Jaylyn
My beautiful, sweet niece turned one yesterday, and today we went to her birthday party.
We love her very much. Zander lights up when he sees her. When we arrived at the party, Jaylyn was sleeping, and Zander wasn't smiling very much. But when she woke up, and Zander saw her he smiled really big and squealed with happiness. He loves his cousin. At the party Zander did something for the first time. He was playing with a toy. He had one hand on the toy as he stood, and the other hand was holding a ball. He took his hand off the toy and stood there by himself not holding onto anything for a couple of seconds. My husband turned to me and said "Did you see that?" And of course I had. We both happened to be watching him play. There were so many kids at the party. Zander had so much fun watching all the kids. We had a good time. Happy Birthday Jaylyn. We love you!
