Giggling Boy

Today I made my son giggle for the first time. I was holding him up in the air and then throwing him up in the air and catching him. He was just loving it and giggling and giggling. Then I would just hold him and look at him and he would giggle some more. It was so cute. My parents watched Zander tonight while McDreamy and I went out and celebrated our anniversary. While he was there, my dad was talking to there dog Copper and Zander kept laughing and laughing. At first they thought that Zander was laughing at his Grandpa talking. But, they figured out he was laughing at the dog's tail wagging. Every time my dad talked to the dog his tail would wag. And Zander apparently thought that was hilarious. How cute.

Happy Anniversary

Today, 3 years ago, I married my true love. Brian, my husband, (or as he likes to go by, McDreamy) is a great guy and a wonderful husband. He is my soul mate. He is a very kind, loving man. I am so glad I married him. It was one of the best decisions of my life. My husband surprised me and had a dozen roses waiting for me when I got home from work last night. Then this morning he made me breakfast. Tonight we are going to have a nice dinner out in Chicago, and then a nice relaxing time at one of the beaches in Chicago. I love you babe. Happy Anniversary!!!

Not Me Monday

Are you feeling guilty for not changing your children's bedsheets for weeks on end? Feel trashy taking your trash to the curb with no bra on? Overcome with embarrassment after your child wets his pants in public? We'll don't be! Not Me! Monday was born out of my desire to admit some of my imperfections and reveal a few moments I'd rather forget. You may find it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This is my first time participating in this and I am "not" good.

I did not bring any dish soap on our road trip, and I did not have anything to clean out Zander's bottles with. So, I did not just rinse them and then fill them back up with water and use them again.

When we took a road trip to look at a house I did not forget a pacifier. I did not try to put my finger in his mouth to get him to quiet down. And when that did not work I did not put a plastic star in his mouth or anything else I could find to help pacify him. He did not continue to scream the entire way to the dairy queen and back to the house while we were waiting for my family.

Then when we got to the house for the second time (we did not get the time wrong about when we were meeting my family) the realtor did not say, "he is such an angel, I haven't heard a peep out of him. And I did not tell the realtor "You should of heard him 5 minutes ago in the car screaming his head off". No Not Me! I would never say anything bad about my precious boy.

Well, that is all I can think of now. But I'm sure there were more.

Road Trip

Well, we took another road trip to Fort Wayne this weekend. We just love visiting family. We left on Friday with my niece, Alyssa, in the back seat to help entertain Zander. Of course we had to stop at Tyler's Tender on the way. This restaurant is my nieces new favorite restaurant. It is all about trains. I'll have to post about that place another day. We dropped Alyssa off with her other Grandma when we got to Fort Wayne, and then we headed to the hotel for the night. On Saturday morning we saw Tyler's flag football game. It was a fun game. Then we met some of the family for lunch. We met my brother and his wife and 3 kids, my aunt and uncle, my 2 cousins, and my cousin Marci's 8 month old boy, Michael (Michael and Zander are 4 1/2 months apart). There was 13 of us in total, and this is only a small get together for our family. After lunch I shopped at Once upon a child, while McDreamy attempted to shop at the Verizon Wireless store. I bought a winter coat for Zander for only $7.50 and I got 2 summer outfits for $1 each. Plus I got him a book about apoligizing. I figure he will have to learn about that some day. McDreamy did not shop at the Verizon store because the wait was way to long. We then drove an hour and met my parents and my brother at a house in North Manchester. My parents need a new house, and this was a potential one that is up for auction. It is a beautiful house on 25 acres of gorgeous land. It even has a in ground pool. I wish we had the money to buy this house, but it is in the boonies. After 2 trips to the Dairy Queen, (the first time was because we got there way earlier than everyone else and we needed somewhere to wait) we headed back to our hotel in Fort Wayne. We just hung out at the hotel the rest of the night. Today we went church at Northside Missionary Church, the one my uncle pastors. Unfortunately I spent most of the service in the nursery, but I love every minute of the time I spend with my son. I just hope to hear a sermon one of these days. It is hard because I have to work every other Sunday. We cooked out at my aunt and uncle's house after the service, and we had fun visiting. We headed for home around 4 p.m. We just love our Fort Wayne visits. I can't wait until Michael and Zander are able to play with each other.

A little note

I did not put any pictures on my last post of our white water rafting day in Costa Rica on our honeymoon. That was such a fun day. And the pictures are so funny. So, when I find the pictures I will post all about our white water rafting in Costa Rica.

Show us your life- Wedding Receptions and Honeymoon

My favorite picture of us on our wedding day! (the one above)

Every week Kelly from Kelly's Korner blog does a show us your life posting. And I decided to join in on the fun this week. This week is show us your wedding reception and honeymoon. Our wedding reception was at Lake of Four Seasons, on the lake, and our honeymoon was in Gatlinburg, Tennesse and Costa Rica. We went for 2 weeks and had a blast.

For our first dance, McDreamy and I did a fast dance that was choreographed. We danced to "A Little Less Conversation a lot More Action" by Elvis Presley. We had so much fun doing it and everyone laughed so hard. It was a surprise to our guests. We acted like we were going to do a slow dance, and then broke out into this fast dance.

Our center pieces, I made them myself.
Our wedding cake. We had a beach theme because our reception was on a lake and we had an outdoor wedding.

My dad and I dancing.
My dad surprised us and sang to us at our reception. We sang the song "I loved her first" by Heartland. I had never heard the song, because at the time it had just come out. It was a big hit right after my wedding. I was so surprised and it meant so much to me. I will never forget it. I love my dad so much. And who knew he could sing, but he can. He made everyone cry, even my photographer. It was so sweet.

Here we are hugging my dad after he sung to us. What a great surprise for us.
McDreamy and I dancing with our niece, Julia. We did a lot of dancing at our reception.
The bouquet toss
Getting the garter
My younger sister caught the bouquet and a good friend of ours caught the garter.
This is what we saw when we got to our car and were trying to leave the reception at around
1 a.m. McDreamy's friends filled our SUV with balloons, streamers, and other decorations.

This is a side view of the cabin we stayed in while in Gatlinburg, Tennesse. It was huge and beautiful.

Our view from the front porch of our cabin. And the one above this one is me looking out at the view we woke up to every morning and admiring God's beautiful creation. I just love the mountains.
We went on a 2 week honeymoon. The first week we rented a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennesse. We had such a relaxing first week, and our cabin was in the mountains. Here we are in front of our cabin. And the picture above is what we plan on doing when we are old and gray. Except it will be on our front porch. This picture was taken at Cracker Barrel.
For the second week of our honeymoon we went to Costa Rica, and we absolutely loved it there. It is so beautiful. God is awesome with how He created the world. Below are some pictures of Costa Rica. We did so much while we there. We went white water rafting (which was one of my favorite activities), canopying, horse back riding, we went down a huge water slide. We also went ATVing, went to the hot springs, had mud all over our bodies, went on a sunset boat cruise, and went kayaking and snorkeling. We laid around by the pool and ocean a lot too. It was so much fun. I would love to go back to Costa Rica one day.
Hanging around the pool
We went on a sunset boat cruise
Us enjoying the pool, we both love to swim.

Us at Dinner, the food was so good there
McDreamy loved ATVing, that was one of the favorite things we did.
We went canopying also.
And here we are int the hot springs. Right before this we had hot mud all over our body, but I was not about to show that picture.
